Resource List be your guide: our resource list will provide you with painters, windowwashers, contractors, landscapers and any other help you need to get your property ready for market. If you don't live in the area, or if you live here but don't have time to oversee the work, we will be glad to supervise, so that the necessary work gets done, and we can show your home to best advantage, and sell it for the best price.

  3. Good news for empty houses! Evers & Co. maintains an inventory of accessories and furnishings to enhance the presentation of your property. We furnish the main rooms of the first floor, and the difference this makes is dramatic and always positive.

Your listing will be placed in the Metropolitan Regional Information System(MRIS), the multiple listing service for the area, making the listing information available to every agent in the Metro area. MRIS can be accessed in our website via the "The Evers Advantage: Your Bridge to MRIS", giving our viewers instant acccess to your listing. In addition, the listing will be available on two other real estate websites, realtor.com and homesdatabase.com.

  • The photo option available in MRIS allows us to add extra color photos to your listing.

The Evers Advantage for Your Home

If your home shows well, it will sell for its optimum price. That's the reason we offer the option of an analysis and "redo" of your home. This can be as simple as painting and de-cluttering to making major design changes. If you want to pursue this option, our agents will tour your home and make notes as to what could be done for optimum presentation. Then, your listing agent and our broker will make a list of suggestions and go over them with you. Typical suggestions will include:
  • Cleaning and De-Cluttering - makes a home sparkle, look bigger and appear to have maximum storage space.

  • Arrangement of Furniture - can make the rooms look bigger and make traffic patterns flow better.

  • Decorating - a few simple and inexpensive changes can often add greatly to the value of your home by making your home look lighter, brighter and up-to-date.

  • Landscaping - a beautiful home can get overwhelmed by shrubbery that has "overgrown" the house; also, the addition of attractive shrubbery and flowers can quickly create an appealing first impression to buyers.

  • Exterior Changes - painting the front door, adding shutters, or making superficial design changes can make a world of difference in the curb appeal of your home.

If you want to utilize this service, we will assist you in finding the items and workmen necessary to make the desired changes in the shortest time and at the least expense to you. Marketing Plan: The Steps to Selling Your Home

  • Use of the MRIS service, reaching all area real estate companies and agents.

  • Tuesday "Brokers Open Houses" - gives area realtors a chance to visit your home: refreshments are provided by Evers & Co.

  • Custom designed brochures and fact sheets describing the features of your home and picturing it in color

  • Just Listed" post cards or flyers delivered to the neighborhood

  • At least two to three ads per month in the Washington Post or its alternative during the listing period. Alternatives include the Legal Times, Northwest Current or other appropriate publications.

  • Weekend open houses to be scheduled at times convenient to you. These are an excellent way to market the property and make it regularly and easily available for viewing to prospective purchasers.

  • Telephone follow-up with agents and principals who have viewed the property. In this way, any interest can be immediately noted and developed by the agent who knows the most about the property.
In addition to the enthusiasm we have for promoting your property, we will be closely involved in all of the phases as the listing proceeds to sale and settlement. We present contracts to you for your consideration, help negotiate contract modifications through final ratification, and supervise the sale through the inspection, financing and escrow period and all the way to settlement.
