Twenty years ago, Great Falls was made up of farms, open country and a few housing developments. Now, it has some of the most expensive homes in the Metro area, including new mansion-sized homes on two acres or more. The village of Great Falls, at the intersection of the Georgetown Pike and Walker Road, is small and quaint, with an assortment of shops and restaurants, a library, post office and fire department. There is a wide range of housing styles available in these homes built from the 1970’s to the present, with many contemporaries as well as formal Georgian estate-style homes. Access to downtown is via the George Washington Parkway and the beltway.
