Incorporated in 1907, the town of Somerset started out with 33 frame Victorians which were built
on speculation, when the main form of transportation to downtown was the
trolley. Now, Somerset residences can walk to Metro, shops and restaurants,
and still enjoy a quiet small town atmosphere. There are some 400 households and the town has a mayor,
town council, and old-fashioned town hall. Facilities also include a community pool and tennis courts;
the biggest annual event is the July 4th picnic at the town hall. In addition to the old Victorians,
there are many ramblers and split levels which were built in the 1950's, and many excellent renovations
of the older houses. Somerset Elementary school is located in the heart of the neighborhood and adds
to the neighborhood's strong sense of community.
Price Range: $800,000 - $2,500,000
